|What about Phone Cards ?||Global Phone System|
Read the fine print on your card !!!
Most phone cards advertise low per-minute rates and tell you how many minutes you can call on their card. The number of minutes assumes that you will use the entire card in one phone call. If you expect to do that, then you can probably believe what they say. (Not all calling card companies are honest. Some may even go out of business before you have used all the minutes on your card.)
Before you can know HOW MUCH IT REALLY COSTS to use a particular phone card, you have to know all this:
What is the COST PER MINUTE.
Does it have an ACTIVATION FEE?
What is the CONNECT FEE per call? It may be as much as $2.00.
Will you be calling from a PAY PHONE? (There is an extra charge for this.)
Is there a "SERVICE
FEE" per week, per month,
or per ½ month (semi-monthly)?
If so, how much? It may be as much as $0.50 per week.
What is the MINIMUM CALL LENGTH? It may be several minutes even if you only use 5 seconds before you hang up on someone's answering machine or voice mail.
Does your time start when you dial, or when the other person answers?
What is the BILLING INCREMENT? (3 minutes, 1 minute, 6 seconds, etc.)
Not only that, but with no printed or online statement, you can't really know if you were overcharged!
Read the fine print! If you don't find it there, it could be anything!
This is why it's best to deal with an established company like Cognigen.
